Carol Communion: Prayer of the Church

The Prayers
Tune: Es Ist ein Ros
76 76 6 76

Dear Father, hear our voices,
To Thee we lift our prayer:
Preserve us, guard and bless us,
Keep us e’er in Thy care.
   Hear us, for Jesus’ sake.
   From heaven’s heights, have mercy,
   And there Thy children take.

Protect us as we travel,
From evil foes defend,
Destroy the tempter’s power,
Uphold us to the end.
   Hear us, for Jesus’ sake.
   From heaven’s heights, have mercy,
   And there Thy children take.

Feed us Thy dear Son’s body,
His holy blood, supply.
Worthy, let us commune here,
That we might never die.
   Hear us, for Jesus’ sake.
   From heaven’s heights, have mercy,
   And there Thy children take.

If Thy will grants it, Father,
Fresh strength and health allow
To those, Thine ailing servants,
For whom Thy Church prays now.
   Hear us, for Jesus’ sake.
   From heaven’s heights, have mercy,
   And there Thy children take.
