Today is the traditional completion of the seven-day cycle of singing the “O Antiphons,” upon which the hymn “Oh, Come, Oh, Come, Emmanuel” is based. Aardvark Alley and Cwirla's Blogosphere, in a spirit of holiday cooperation, have completed their own seven-day cycle of posts. Pastor Cwirla opted for devotional writing while the Aardvark gave Latin texts and translations of the antiphons, the original Latin carol, and the English metrical hymn.
