Happy Birthday, Martin II

Aardvark Alley has a birthday card of sorts for the “Second Martin” of Lutheranism, Martin Chemnitz.

Along with the scholarly pursuits listed by the Aardvark, we must also recognize Chemnitz as an outstanding administrator and churchman. As ecclesiastical superintendent for the city of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel from 1567 until his death, his wise governance certainly helped the churches under his influence grow and develop.
