Catching My Breath
Lent, Christianity’s great penitential season, reaches its climax this week. Our Lord’s triumphal Palm Sunday entry into Jerusalem gives way to His suffering and death. Holy (Maundy) Thursday and Good Friday were among the earliest events regularly observed on the Christian calendar. Perhaps only the celebration of the Lord’s resurrection began sooner in the Church’s existence. The next few posts will address some questions I’ve received concerning Lent and Holy Week and will give me a brief break from bulletin typing and sermon preparing.
